5\u00d75 Technologies is a Florida-based start-up that helps organizations manage, protect and monetize their physical assets by using cutting-edge 3D spatial computing, machine learning (ML) and artificial intelligence (AI).<\/p>

The business had been looking to recruit a number of key senior AWS professionals that not only possessed the technical expertise to jump straight in and get the work done, but that would also be the best cultural fit for its start-up environment.<\/p>

Criterions is a long\u2011standing healthcare technology provider specializing in cloud\u2011based EHR and practice management solutions for medical offices, clinics and billing services. With more than 30 years of experience, the company delivers integrated tools for electronic health records, medical billing, e\u2011prescribing and patient engagement. Their platform is designed with direct input from healthcare providers, ensuring it meets evolving regulatory standards while offering customizable, user\u2011centric features that help practice streamline operations and improve patient care.<\/p>

Criterions\u2019 legacy on\u2011premises EHR system had begun to show its age, creating operational inefficiencies and performance issues that directly affected both internal teams and end\u2011users. The system experienced slow processing times and workflow delays, which made it difficult for healthcare providers to access and update patient information quickly. Contributing to the issue was the lack of redundancy, leaving the organization vulnerable to outages and limiting its ability to maintain consistent uptime. The company also relied on a complex Oracle database environment that needed to be migrated and optimized for AWS EC2, a task made more challenging by the absence of in-house cloud expertise. As customer demand grew, the existing infrastructure struggled to scale, making modernization essential for maintaining reliability, meeting customer expectations and supporting long\u2011term product evolution.<\/p>

To address these challenges, Criterions engaged with Jefferson Frank\u2019s TalentEdge solution. This allowed them to design a project plan and build a team of experienced resources. From there, it enabled the team to design and implement a three\u2011tier AWS architecture that included a web tier, application tier and database tier. This architecture leveraged Amazon EC2 for compute resources and hosting the Oracle database, Amazon S3 for secure and durable storage and Amazon VPC to provide a fully isolated and secure networking environment. Security was further strengthened through the use of AWS Web Application Firewall, while Amazon Route 53 handled DNS and traffic routing to ensure reliable access to the EHR platform. AWS Migration Evaluator played a key role in assessing readiness and guiding the planning process. Over the course of four months, by working with Jefferson Frank\u2019s TalentEdge solution, the team completed the migration utilizing the appropriate consulting expertise, executed on data transfer with our engineers, completed environment build\u2011out, as well as performance tuning. AWS provided the core cloud infrastructure that enabled Criterions to modernize their EHR system without disrupting customer operations.<\/p>

The results<\/strong><\/p>

TalentEdge-enabled migration to AWS delivered significant improvements across performance, reliability and operational efficiency. The modernized environment dramatically reduced delays in EHR processing, enabling faster access to patient records and smoother workflows for healthcare providers. Criterions also gained robust disaster recovery capability through cross\u2011region database replication, ensuring continuity even in the event of a regional outage. Security was strengthened through network isolation and WAF protection, while the new architecture provided the scalability needed to support future customer growth. By moving away from aging on\u2011premises hardware, the organization also reduced operational overhead and positioned itself for more efficient long\u2011term maintenance.<\/p>

Innovation and differentiation<\/strong><\/p>

While the architecture followed AWS best practices, the project distinguished itself through its tailored approach to migrating and tuning an Oracle database on EC2. The team worked closely with AWS specialists to ensure the database performed optimally and could be replicated reliably across regions. This collaboration resulted in a future\u2011ready foundation that enables Criterions to adopt additional native AWS services, such as Amazon RDS and AWS Managed Services, as their modernization journey continues. The solution balanced innovation with operational continuity, ensuring that customers experienced a seamless transition.<\/p>

Future plans<\/strong><\/p>

With a modern AWS foundation now in place, Criterions is exploring several opportunities to continue enhancing its platform. As Evondos expanded across multiple European markets, the company faced increasing pressure to hire highly specialized engineering talent capable of supporting its rapidly evolving product roadmap. Their previous recruitment model relied heavily on multiple local agencies, which made it difficult to maintain consistent quality, create hiring efficiency and build cohesive internal knowledge. This challenge was compounded by the scarcity of AWS\u2011aligned cloud engineers, AI specialists, IoT experts and advanced software developers in the Nordic and Benelux regions.<\/p>

Evondos needed a partner capable of supporting hiring newly acquired technologies, integrating teams brought in through acquisitions such as Medido and Vitacam. Demand for niche technical talent was rising quickly, competition for engineers was high, and their existing recruitment partners lacked the specialization needed for long\u2011term strategic growth.<\/p>

The relationship began with an introduction from an AWS SMB Account Manager and a strategic conversation with Evondos\u2019 CTO. From that point forward, a centralized, AWS\u2011aligned software model utilizing TalentEdge was implemented to streamline recruitment, resource management and project delivery across all active regions. The approach focused on delivering a consistent, high\u2011quality talent pipeline and project capabilities while replacing the fragmented delivery model. Talentedge enabled the customer to carefully navigate the challenge of project delivery and market growth in one place \u2013 understanding of resource scarcity, location of headcount investment and achievable technology capability advancement from those resources.<\/p>

The partnership incorporated marketplace as a channel for sourcing and delivering specialist AWS talent, enabling the recruitment of roles deeply rooted in cloud engineering, DevOps, AI\/ML, IoT and software development. Delivery was executed across Sweden, Finland, Denmark and the Netherlands, with continuous collaboration to ensure the hiring approach was aligned with Evondos\u2019 long\u2011term technology and scaling strategy. Over time, Evondos began treating the partnership as an extension of their internal hiring function, relying on senior\u2011level trust and cross\u2011group alignment to support their engineering growth.<\/p>
