D365 Power BI Consultant

My client is looking for a hands-on Power BI professional with deep experience working directly with the D365 F&O data model. The ideal candidate understands both the functional structure of D365 (Finance and/or Supply Chain) and modern Power BI data modeling best practices.

This individual will work closely with Finance, Supply Chain, and IT stakeholders to design scalable, high-performance reporting solutions.

Key Responsibilities
* Design and develop Power BI dashboards and reports leveraging D365 F&O data
* Build optimized semantic data models aligned with financial dimensions and operational structures
* Extract and transform D365 data using Data Entities, OData, BYOD, or Azure Data Lake
* Develop complex DAX measures to support financial and operational KPIs
* Reconcile Power BI outputs to D365 transactional data to ensure integrity and accuracy
* Implement row-level security aligned with D365 security roles
* Optimize report performance and refresh schedules
* Support executive reporting, month-end close analytics, and operational dashboards

Required Experience
* Strong Power BI development background (5+ years preferred)
* Direct experience working with D365 F&O data models (3+ years preferred)
* Deep understanding of:
* Financial dimensions and chart of accounts
* Subledger-to-GL relationships
* Inventory and supply chain transactions
* Advanced proficiency in DAX, Power Query (M), and data modeling (star schema design)
* Strong SQL skills
* Experience supporting Finance and/or Operations stakeholders
