D365 Project Operations Consultant

One of my clients is seeking an experienced Microsoft Dynamics 365 Project Operations Consultant with strong experience across both Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations (F&O) and Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement (CE). This role will focus on implementing and optimizing the Project Operations solution to support end-to-end project lifecycle management, from sales and project planning through execution, resourcing, and financial management.

The consultant will work closely with business stakeholders, functional teams, and technical teams to design and implement scalable solutions that integrate project management, resource management, and financial processes within the D365 ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead the functional implementation and configuration of Dynamics 365 Project Operations.
- Work across both D365 F&O and D365 CE environments to deliver integrated project accounting and project management solutions.
- Gather and document business requirements and translate them into functional design documents.
- Configure modules related to project planning, resource management, project costing, billing, and revenue recognition.
- Support integration between CE (Sales, Project Operations) and F&O (Project Management and Accounting, Finance modules).
- Facilitate workshops with business stakeholders to define processes and system requirements.
- Provide guidance on best practices for project-based organizations using D365.
- Support data migration, testing cycles, and user acceptance testing.
- Assist with user training, documentation, and go-live support.
- Collaborate with technical architects and developers on system customizations and integrations.

Required Experience

- 5+ years of experience working with Microsoft Dynamics 365 solutions.
- Hands-on implementation experience with Dynamics 365 Project Operations.
- Strong functional experience across both:
- Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations
- Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement (CE)
- Experience with Project Management and Accounting within D365 F&O.
- Understanding of project-based financial processes including project costing, budgeting, billing, and revenue recognition.
- Experience integrating CE and F&O environments.
- Proven experience participating in full lifecycle D365 implementations.

Preferred Experience

- Experience with professional services, engineering, construction, or project-based organizations.
- Familiarity with Power Platform (Power Automate, Power Apps, Power BI).
- Experience working with Azure DevOps or similar tools for project tracking.
- Microsoft Dynamics certifications related to D365 F&O, CE, or Project Operations.
