Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Microsoft Dynamics NAV/Business Central (BC) Functional Consultant to support a company that is wrapping up a migration from NAV 2017 to Business Central SaaS. The technical migration is complete, and the organization now needs a strong functional partner to guide the next phase—optimizing processes, driving user adoption, and preparing for go-live.
This role will act as a hybrid Business Analyst, functional consultant, and project lead—helping the organization understand what they don’t know, refine their processes, and successfully transition into a modern BC environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead functional readiness for Business Central SaaS following technical migration from NAV 2017
Serve as a trusted advisor to identify gaps, opportunities, and best practices in BC
Support and improve project governance, including UAT, process design, and go-live planning
Partner with finance, operations, and sales teams to streamline processes and reduce reliance on Excel
Provide expertise across key modules including Finance, Distribution, Inventory, and Landed Cost
Assist with complex landed cost and inventory scenarios specific to pipe distribution and logistics
Support integrations and tools including Continia, Jet Reports, and Avalara (non-integrated)
Collaborate with internal stakeholders and IT partners to align BC capabilities with business needs
Environment:
Industry: Distribution with related transportation/logistics business
Existing systems include BC SaaS, Continia, Jet Reports, and basic intercompany interfaces
Qualifications:
Proven experience with NAV and/or Business Central (functional focus preferred)
Strong background in ERP business processes, particularly in finance, inventory, and distribution
Experience leading UAT, process improvement, and ERP adoption initiatives
Ability to operate as a business partner, bridging technical systems and operational needs
Familiarity with landed cost, inventory complexity, or similar distribution environments is a strong plus
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills in a small-team setting
