Senior Marketing Automation Specialist
Location: Netherlands (Hybrid – 2 days onsite)
Salary: Up to €75000 per year + bonus
Type: Permanent
Overview
An established and fast-growing digital agency is looking to hire a Senior Marketing Automation Specialist to join their team. Operating at the intersection of marketing, data, and technology, this role is ideal for someone who enjoys combining strategy, client engagement, and delivery oversight.
You will work closely with enterprise clients, taking ownership of marketing automation initiatives and ensuring successful execution across complex, multi-channel programmes.
The Role
This is a client-facing, strategic role, where you will act as the lead on key accounts and drive the success of marketing automation efforts.
You will be responsible for:
Leading client relationships and acting as the main point of contact
Defining marketing automation strategies and roadmaps
Running regular planning sessions to align on goals and next steps
Translating business requirements into actionable technical briefs
Coordinating developers, designers, and other stakeholders
Ensuring successful delivery of campaigns and automation workflows
Identifying opportunities to optimise and grow client accounts
This role combines strategy, stakeholder management, and project leadership, rather than pure hands-on campaign execution.
Key Responsibilities
Own and manage multiple enterprise client relationships
Develop and deliver strategic marketing automation roadmaps
Oversee campaign planning, execution, and optimisation
Act as the bridge between business stakeholders and technical teams
Manage timelines, priorities, and cross-functional collaboration
Support ongoing innovation within marketing automation programmes
Required Experience
Essential:
Commercial experience in Marketing Automation
Strong understanding of:
Customer journeys
Campaign lifecycle
CRM and data-driven marketing
Proven experience in client-facing or stakeholder-facing roles
Ability to translate business needs into technical requirements
Strong organisational and project management skills
Preferred:
Experience with Salesforce Marketing Cloud (highly desirable)
Background in an agency or consulting environment
Exposure to enterprise marketing platforms (e.g. Dynamics, HubSpot, etc.)
Understanding of data structures and how marketing systems integrate
