F&O/EDI Consultant

Role Overview:
We are working with an established enterprise organization seeking an experienced EDI Integration Consultant to support and enhance its Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations (D365 F&O) environment.

The successful consultant will focus on troubleshooting EDI integrations, improving transaction reliability, supporting trading-partner connectivity, and maintaining efficient data exchange between internal ERP systems and external business partners.

This is a hands-on contract opportunity suited to someone with strong EDI technical expertise, particularly with OpenText VAN, alongside a working understanding of D365 F&O and supply chain business processes.

Hauptverantwortlichkeiten:
The consultant will be responsible for investigating and resolving EDI transaction failures, translation errors, mapping discrepancies, and integration issues. This includes supporting EDI integrations between Microsoft Dynamics 365 F&O, external trading partners, and third-party platforms, while ensuring accurate and reliable data exchange across business-critical systems.

A key aspect of the role will involve troubleshooting ANSI X12 transactions, including purchase orders (850), invoices (810), advance shipping notices (856), and warehouse-related transactions. The consultant will review mapping configurations, validation rules, and trading-partner specifications to identify errors, determine root causes, and implement or coordinate corrective actions.

The successful candidate will also support trading-partner onboarding, connectivity configuration, and integration testing. They will work closely with internal technical teams, external vendors, and business stakeholders to resolve transaction issues, maintain system reliability, and support ongoing enhancements.

Additionally, the consultant will assist with end-to-end order-to-cash processes, including order management, fulfillment, shipping, and invoicing. They will be expected to independently investigate recurring integration issues, document findings, track resolutions, and contribute to continuous improvements across the EDI environment.

Erforderliche Fähigkeiten und Erfahrungen:
Candidates should have strong hands-on experience with OpenText VAN or comparable enterprise EDI platforms, with direct OpenText experience highly preferred. A proven background in EDI mapping, translation, transaction processing, and production troubleshooting is essential, alongside a solid understanding of ANSI X12 standards and commonly used transaction sets such as 850, 810, and 856.

Experience supporting trading-partner onboarding, configuration, and connectivity is important, including familiarity with communication protocols such as AS2, SFTP, and other VAN integration methods. Candidates should be comfortable investigating failed transactions, interpreting trading-partner specifications, and coordinating resolutions with internal and external teams.

Working knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations or similar enterprise ERP environments is required, particularly an understanding of sales orders, accounts receivable, inventory management, warehouse operations, and order-to-cash processes. Experience supporting ERP-integrated EDI solutions within manufacturing, distribution, retail, or supply chain environments would be especially relevant.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, excellent communication skills, and the ability to independently manage technical issues through to resolution.

Preferred Qualifications:
Previous experience supporting EDI integrations within Microsoft Dynamics 365 F&O would be advantageous, particularly familiarity with To-Increase, StAEDIAn, or similar ERP-integrated EDI solutions. Exposure to additional EDI platforms such as Cleo, Sterling, SPS Commerce, or TrueCommerce would also be beneficial.

Candidates with experience supporting third-party logistics providers, warehouse integrations, and complex supply chain transactions will be well suited to the position. Prior involvement in EDI platform migrations, integration modernization initiatives, or post-implementation stabilization projects would be valuable.

Experience using Azure DevOps or similar issue-tracking and development management tools is also desirable.

Ideal Candidate:
The ideal candidate is an experienced, hands-on EDI Integration Consultant who can independently investigate transaction failures, identify mapping and connectivity issues, and collaborate with technical teams and external trading partners to implement effective solutions.

While knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics 365 F&O is important, the primary focus of this position is on strong EDI troubleshooting, integration support, and transaction management capabilities. The successful consultant will be comfortable working in a fast-paced enterprise environment, taking ownership of technical issues, and contributing to the reliability and ongoing improvement of business-critical integration processes.
