Senior .NET Platform Engineer (Backend & Event-Driven Architecture)

About the Opportunity

We are looking for a Senior .NET Platform Engineer to join a growing product engineering team responsible for a large-scale, cloud-native platform that processes data from hundreds of thousands of devices worldwide.

This is a backend engineering role focused on building the core platform and services that power business-critical applications across multiple customer-facing and internal products. You will work on domain models, APIs, event-driven architectures and data platforms, helping shape technology decisions and design standards in a modern engineering environment.

Working within a cross-functional team of developers, architects, QA engineers and product specialists, you will contribute to the evolution of a next-generation platform built around Domain-Driven Design principles and microservices architecture.

Key Responsibilities
Design and develop cloud-native backend services using C# and .NET.
Define and maintain scalable API contracts consumed by multiple products and teams.
Design event-driven solutions using messaging and streaming technologies.
Build domain models and bounded contexts using Domain-Driven Design (DDD) principles.
Optimize data storage and retrieval using relational and non-relational database technologies.
Ensure platform scalability, reliability and performance across high-volume environments.
Implement observability, monitoring and diagnostics capabilities.
Contribute to technical architecture discussions and engineering best practices.
Collaborate closely with product, architecture and QA teams throughout the development lifecycle.
Leverage AI-assisted development tools to improve engineering productivity and quality.

Required Experience
Strong commercial experience with C# and .NET backend development.
Experience designing and developing REST APIs and distributed systems.
Good understanding of Domain-Driven Design concepts.
Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL or similar relational database technologies.
Experience with event-driven architectures and messaging platforms such as Kafka.
Knowledge of containerisation and Kubernetes-based deployments.
Experience working within Agile delivery environments.
Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis capabilities.

Nice to Have
Experience building platforms from the ground up.
Exposure to high-volume IoT, telemetry or data-intensive environments.
Knowledge of Redis, ClickHouse or similar technologies.
Experience working with Azure DevOps and modern CI/CD pipelines.
