  • Description

The Director of Enterprise Systems will spearhead the strategic direction and operational management of a sophisticated financial systems landscape centred around NetSuite ERP. This role exists to bridge the gap between Finance, Accounting, and Technology functions, driving essential process improvements, automation, and scalable system solutions within a complex, multi-entity environment. By leading enterprise-wide initiatives that optimise the Procure-to-Pay and Quote-to-Cash cycles, enhance financial reporting, and implement AI-enabled efficiencies, the successful candidate will play a pivotal role in supporting business growth and operational excellence.

In this leadership position, the Director of Enterprise Systems will assume full ownership of the financial systems ecosystem, with NetSuite as the core platform. This involves forming a close partnership with Finance, Accounting, FP&A, and senior executives to align system strategies with wider organisational objectives. The role demands an ability to manage and enhance workflows covering general ledger management, multi-entity accounting, intercompany transactions, and financial consolidations, ensuring these critical systems are both robust and adaptable to changing business needs.

Day-to-day responsibilities include developing and executing an enterprise systems roadmap that prioritises system optimisation, comprehensive automation, and the integration of advanced technologies such as AI. The role also requires overseeing enhancements, upgrades, and governance frameworks to maintain system integrity and support business agility. An essential aspect of the position is leading and mentoring a growing team dedicated to financial systems, enterprise applications, FP&A, and project management, establishing clear standards, development plans, and strategic priorities for team members.

The environments and platforms involved are diverse and complex. The Director will manage integrations and processes involving NetSuite ERP, Avalara for tax compliance, multiple billing platforms, expense management tools, and lease accounting solutions such as LeaseQuery. Preparations for future consolidation efforts involving Oracle Financials will also form part of ongoing strategic considerations. This requires a leader who can navigate various technical ecosystems while serving as a trusted advisor to Finance stakeholders and managing relationships with external vendors, consultants, and implementation partners.

The ideal candidate will bring a strong foundational knowledge of accounting or finance combined with over five years of hands-on NetSuite experience and a minimum of eight years supporting ERP and enterprise financial systems within complex, multi-subsidiary organisations. Proven expertise managing intercompany accounting, financial consolidations, and ERP optimisation projects is essential. A background transitioning from Accounting or Finance into Financial Systems leadership is highly desirable, as is exposure to the energy, utilities, or infrastructure sectors due to their operational complexities.
