Senior Business Analyst (Contract)

Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst to join a major transformation programme within the Energy & Utilities sector. This is an opportunity to play a pivotal role in bridging the gap between business stakeholders and a nearshore development team, ensuring strategic business initiatives are translated into clear, actionable, and development-ready requirements.

This role goes beyond traditional requirements gathering. We're looking for someone who can navigate complex stakeholder landscapes, challenge assumptions when necessary, and drive progress in an environment where multiple business units and priorities need to be aligned.

Key Responsibilities:
Stakeholder Management & Alignment
Engage with business stakeholders across multiple departments and functions.
Facilitate workshops and requirements-gathering sessions.
Manage competing priorities and conflicting viewpoints.
Build trusted relationships while maintaining focus on project objectives and delivery timelines.
Business Analysis & Requirements Engineering
Analyse, document, and refine business requirements.
Translate business needs into detailed functional specifications and user stories.
Define acceptance criteria and ensure requirements are development-ready.
Conduct impact assessments and support solution design discussions.

Business & Technology Bridging:
Act as the primary interface between business stakeholders and a nearshore development team.
Ensure technical teams have sufficient clarity to deliver without excessive back-and-forth.
Support backlog refinement and prioritisation activities.
Provide ongoing clarification and guidance throughout the delivery lifecycle.

Process Improvement & Delivery Support
Identify opportunities to improve business processes and ways of working.
Challenge existing processes where appropriate to improve outcomes.
Support successful implementation and adoption of new capabilities.
Help drive delivery momentum and resolve blockers.

Required Experience:
Proven experience as a Business Analyst within complex enterprise environments.
Strong background in Contract Management related projects.
Demonstrated experience gathering, analysing, and documenting business requirements.
Experience creating detailed user stories and functional specifications.
Strong stakeholder management and workshop facilitation skills.
Ability to challenge stakeholders constructively and drive alignment.
Experience working closely with development teams in Agile environments.
Fluent Dutch and English communication skills.

Preferred Experience:
Experience working within the Energy & Utilities sector.
Experience with Salesforce Industry Cloud environments.
Exposure to CRM transformation programmes.
Experience working with nearshore or offshore delivery teams.

Contract Details
Contract Length: Initial 6-month engagement
Start Date: November 2026
Working Pattern: Full-time
Location: Northern Netherlands
Onsite Requirement: 1-2 days per week
Languages: Dutch (mandatory) and English
