HR Director

A growing and diversified group with operations across multiple markets is looking to appoint a senior HR leader to strengthen and further develop its Group HR function.

This is a broad, hands-on leadership role suited to an experienced HR Director, Head of HR or Senior HR Manager who is comfortable working closely with senior management while also getting into the details when required.

The Role

You will work closely with the Group’s senior leadership team and business leaders across different markets, helping to shape the organisation’s people strategy while strengthening the underlying HR framework and processes.

Key areas of responsibility include:

Develop and implement HR strategies that support the Group’s business growth and organisational priorities.
Strengthen the Group’s HR infrastructure, including policies, processes, systems, governance and ways of working.
Advise the Chairman, senior management and business leaders on people, organisational and workforce matters.
Lead workforce planning, organisational design, succession planning, talent development and capability-building initiatives.
Review and improve existing HR practices, identifying gaps and implementing practical solutions.
Develop and enhance performance management, compensation & benefits and employee retention frameworks.
Work across different markets to ensure HR practices are appropriately aligned with local employment requirements while maintaining suitable Group-wide standards.
Support culture development, employee engagement and organisational change across different teams and geographies.
Provide leadership, coaching and direction to the existing HR team, while remaining involved in day-to-day HR matters where necessary.
Take ownership of ad hoc people and organisational initiatives as the business continues to evolve.

What We’re Looking For

We are open to candidates at HR Director / Head of HR / Senior HR Manager level, depending on the breadth of experience and scope of responsibility.

The ideal candidate will have:

10+ years of progressive HR experience, with meaningful exposure to HR leadership or senior HR business partnering.
Experience working across multiple countries, regions or geographically diverse organisations.
A track record of building, improving or transforming HR functions, particularly within a growing or relatively lean organisation.
Strong experience across strategic HR areas such as workforce planning, organisational development, talent management, performance management and compensation & benefits.
Experience partnering directly with C-level executives, business owners or senior management, with the confidence to provide practical and sometimes challenging HR advice.
A good understanding of how to balance Group-level consistency with local market requirements.
Strong business judgement, stakeholder management and communication skills.
A hands-on and pragmatic approach — someone who can move between strategic discussions and operational HR matters without relying heavily on layers of support.
Excellent Putonghua is essential. English is required, while Cantonese would be an advantage.
Strong ability to identify issues early, communicate clearly and drive solutions in a fast-moving environment.
