Job Description

NetSuite Project Manager / Super User
Confidential client · Nonprofit sector · Boston, MA

Our client, a mission-driven nonprofit organization in Boston, is deep into a full NetSuite deployment migrating from a legacy on-premise Great Plains environment. The chart of accounts is live and design work is well underway. They need a hands-on project manager who can also operate as an internal NetSuite super user and serve as the primary bridge between their finance team and the implementation consultants. This is not a passive coordination role. They want a proactive taskmaster who owns scheduling, drives meeting cadence inside and outside the organization, and keeps the team on task without waiting to be asked.

Start
Immediate

Hours
Approximately 10 hrs/week now, ramping to 15 to 20 hrs/week through the November and December heavy lift

Target go-live
January

What you’ll do

Drive the implementation from the client side, owning timelines, milestone accountability, and stakeholder deadlines

Serve as the internal NetSuite super user and primary liaison with the external implementation team

Own meeting scheduling, invites, and follow-through across internal teams and outside parties

Support system walkthroughs, business process refinement, and UAT coordination through go-live

Lead post-go-live stabilization, with Salesforce and third-party integrations planned as a later phase

Provide support on audit activities running alongside the implementation

What we’re looking for

Strong accounting background with the financial fluency to inform ERP design decisions

Hands-on NetSuite implementation experience, ideally across multiple projects or modules

Nonprofit sector experience strongly preferred, especially grant management, grant funding tracking, or fund accounting

Great Plains familiarity a plus given the legacy environment

Naturally assertive, communication-forward, and proactive

Greater Boston preference for occasional onsite presence, largely remote otherwise

The opportunity
This engagement runs at least through the January go-live with likely post-go-live work as integrations come online. The organization values consistent, visible engagement and clear communication above all.

To express interest or learn more, reach out to the Anderson Frank team. The process includes an initial screening interview followed by direct conversations with the client’s leadership team.

NetSuite Support — Contract Role Requirements
One fixed-term hire, initially twelve months, with the option to extend or convert. Two options are presented; Option B is recommended. Both are written so either can be posted as-is.
Option A — NetSuite Analyst, Functional (12-month contract)
An analyst who takes over day-to-day NetSuite administration: keeping the system configured correctly, producing the reporting the business runs on, and acting as first-line support for users across finance, operations and project management.
Key responsibilities
● Build and maintain saved searches, reports and dashboards for finance, PMO and operations.
● Prepare and execute data imports, including multi-file imports for transactions and inventory, and resolve the errors they produce.
● Provision users, roles and permissions; maintain access records and support periodic access reviews.
● Maintain transaction form and PDF template changes, and make routine workflow adjustments.
● Act as first-line support for user-reported issues: reproduce, document, and either resolve or escalate with a clear write-up.
● Test system releases and internal builds before they reach production, and keep process documentation and field schemas current.
Required qualifications
● One to three years in an ERP, accounting systems, business analyst or operations support role, with hands-on system administration rather than end-user experience alone.
● Working knowledge of saved searches or equivalent reporting tools in another ERP, and of structured data imports.
● Comfort with structured data: understands records, fields, keys, and the difference between a header and a line.
● Clear written communication. A material part of this role is writing down what was done and why.
● Methodical troubleshooting habits and a willingness to read an error message rather than escalate it unread.
Preferred
● Direct NetSuite administration experience.
● Accounting or bookkeeping background, or exposure to project accounting or job costing.
● SQL, or report building in another ERP or BI tool.

Option B — Junior NetSuite Analyst, Technical (12-month contract)
A junior analyst with genuine programming ability, who absorbs the routine administration queue and takes the first pass at every script-level issue — reproducing it, gathering the evidence, isolating the cause, and either fixing it under review or handing over a diagnosis rather than a symptom. This is the recommended option.
Key responsibilities
● Take first-pass diagnosis of script and integration failures: reproduce the issue, read the execution logs, isolate it to the responsible script, and write up what was found.
● Read and trace existing SuiteScript to answer questions about how current functionality behaves.
● Make small, bounded changes to existing scripts — field handling, validation messages, log output, defined logic changes — developed in a sandbox and reviewed before deployment.
● Build and maintain saved searches, reports and dashboards for finance, PMO and operations.
● Prepare and execute data imports, including multi-file imports, and resolve the errors they produce.
● Provision users, roles and permissions; maintain transaction forms, PDF templates and routine workflow changes.
● Act as first-line support for user-reported issues, escalating with a clear written diagnosis where a fix is beyond current scope.
● Document what was changed and why — in code comments, in the build log and in the project documents. This is a house standard and is assessed in review.
Required qualifications
● Demonstrable programming ability, ideally in JavaScript — from coursework, a portfolio, personal projects or prior scripting in a business role. Professional development experience is not required.
● Ability to read and reason about code they did not write, and to explain what it does. This is tested at interview with a real sample.
● Methodical troubleshooting habits: reproduces before fixing, reads the error, and can describe what was ruled out and why.
● A diploma or degree in computer science, software development, information systems or a related field — or equivalent practical experience.
● Clear written communication and a genuine interest in the business problem behind a request.
Preferred
● Any NetSuite or SuiteScript exposure, including academic, self-taught or as an end user.
● JavaScript specifically, and familiarity with JSON and REST APIs.
● SQL, or experience querying a relational database directly.
● Exposure to accounting, project or inventory systems in any capacity.
