Senior Test Engineer (Backend, API & Platform Quality)

We are seeking a Senior Test Engineer to help own quality across a large-scale cloud-native platform supporting hundreds of thousands of devices globally.

This is not a traditional UI testing role. You will focus on backend services, APIs, event-driven systems and data validation, ensuring platform reliability, scalability and quality throughout the software delivery lifecycle.

You will work closely with developers, architects and product teams to embed quality practices into engineering processes and contribute to the design of automated testing frameworks used across multiple platform teams.

Zuständigkeiten
Design and execute automated tests across APIs, services and distributed systems.
Validate data integrity across event streams, databases and platform services.
Develop and maintain automated test frameworks using modern engineering practices.
Build integration, contract and end-to-end test coverage for platform components.
Contribute to CI/CD quality gates and automated release validation.
Support performance, scalability and load testing initiatives.
Define test strategies for platform migration and transformation projects.
Collaborate with engineering teams to improve testability and quality throughout development.
Investigate defects and perform detailed root-cause analysis.
Leverage AI-assisted tooling to improve testing efficiency and coverage.

Erforderliche Berufserfahrung
Strong background in software testing and quality assurance.
Experience testing APIs, backend services and distributed applications.
Ability to write automated test code in C#, .NET or another statically typed language.
Strong SQL and data validation skills.
Understanding of event-driven and service-oriented architectures.
Experience working with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing practices.
Strong analytical and troubleshooting capabilities.
Experience working in Agile delivery environments.

Wäre schön, wenn…
Experience with Kafka, messaging systems or event-stream processing.
Exposure to containerised environments and Kubernetes.
Knowledge of Testcontainers, xUnit or similar testing frameworks.
Experience with performance and load testing.
Understanding of observability, monitoring and platform diagnostics.
