Senior Azure Integration Lead

The Senior Azure Integration Lead will shape and deliver enterprise-grade integration solutions on Microsoft Azure, supporting complex digital transformation initiatives. The role combines hands-on engineering with architectural direction, helping ensure that systems connect securely and reliably while integration approaches meet business needs and enterprise standards.

You will lead technical implementation across integration projects, from establishing solution architecture through to delivery. This includes developing scalable, resilient designs and defining the API strategies, integration patterns and governance standards that guide their use. The role calls for sound architectural judgement alongside the ability to engage directly with technical teams and senior business stakeholders.

Azure API Management, Azure Functions and Azure Service Bus will form part of the integration environment. You will use these services to develop and shape integration architectures, while working closely with infrastructure and security teams on connectivity and secure implementation. A practical understanding of networking is important: the role involves diagnosing issues relating to ports, routing, network access and hybrid connectivity, as well as considering how these affect the design and operation of integrations.

The position also involves presenting architecture recommendations and integration strategies to senior stakeholders, and collaborating with architects, business leaders, project managers and vendor teams. You will need to communicate technical considerations clearly, support informed decisions and keep delivery aligned with security and governance requirements. CI/CD implementation is another part of the remit, using Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions.

The Senior Azure Integration Lead will suit someone able to move between detailed technical problem-solving and wider solution design. The client is looking for a senior practitioner with more than 12 years’ experience and a strong background in enterprise integration. Relevant expertise includes:

- Designing and delivering integration solutions using Microsoft Azure.
- Working with APIs and Azure Integration Services, including API Management, Functions and Service Bus.
- Applying networking fundamentals across IP, ports, protocols, routing and hybrid connectivity scenarios.
- Contributing to solution architecture, integration patterns, API strategy and governance.
- Supporting CI/CD implementation with Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions.
- Engaging with senior technical and business stakeholders, and presenting architecture recommendations.

This is a hands-on lead role, with responsibility for translating architectural direction into workable technical delivery. You will be expected to investigate connectivity challenges, coordinate with infrastructure and security specialists, and help ensure that proposed integrations are both secure and resilient. The mix of consulting, stakeholder engagement and implementation makes the role suited to someone comfortable advising on the approach as well as contributing to its delivery.

The position is based in Sydney on a hybrid basis, with two days in the office and three days working remotely each week. The engagement is for six months, with a possible extension. The stated maximum salary is AU$180,000, all inclusive and based on full-time equivalent.
