  • Job Type Contract
  • Salary/RateUSD 50.00 to 70.00

    • Netsuite

Job Description

Bringing structured supply planning to life, the NetSuite MRP Consultant will be instrumental in transitioning a cutting-edge AI robotics manufacturer from Excel-based processes to a robust NetSuite environment. This role exists to deliver a fully operational Supply Planning function, ensuring the small but growing team can manage it independently post-implementation. The successful candidate will be embedded in a dynamic setting where precise material requirements planning is critical to support innovative product assembly and meet evolving production demands.

The core of this role focuses on delivering and optimising Supply Planning configurations within NetSuite’s Manufacturing Resource Planning framework. Central to this is cleansing and loading the item and vendor master data—approximately 1,400 parts spanning two distinct robot models—laying the foundation for accurate planning activities. The role requires configuring supply plan definitions, establishing the appropriate planning horizons, and setting demand time fences that reflect realistic operational parameters. Resolving discrepancies between forecasted demand and supply recommendations will be key to delivering a reliable and actionable plan that aligns with manufacturing realities.

An essential component of the engagement lies in advising on multi-level Bills of Materials (BOMs) and accurately assessing work order lead times, critical for synchronising planning outputs with production schedules. The NetSuite MRP Consultant will also take responsibility for supporting User Acceptance Testing (UAT), documenting critical decisions, and producing comprehensive Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Ensuring smooth knowledge transfer, the consultant will provide hands-on training and clear guidance to enable the client’s planning team to operate the system autonomously after project completion.

This contract role begins in early November and requires a commitment of between 32 and 40 hours weekly, with a minimum of 25 hours, including onsite presence in Greater Boston three days per week. The initial phase of the project runs through the go-live planned for February 1, 2027, with ongoing support to provide stability until around March 1, 2027. This structure ensures close collaboration with the client’s team during critical deployment stages and smooth transition into steady-state operations.

The successful candidate will bring a minimum of two hands-on NetSuite MRP or Supply Planning implementations, demonstrating a pragmatic, “get it done” approach over architectural design. Manufacturing or assembly experience with complex, multi-level BOMs and work order processes is indispensable, as is a disciplined approach to documentation and SOP creation. Clear communication skills are also critical, including the ability to explain trade-offs and planning decisions in straightforward terms to non-technical users. The role demands an autonomous operator capable of delivering results independently while fostering confidence in the client’s team.

Working within an information technology and services industry setting, this role aligns with the fast-paced demands of integrating advanced manufacturing systems supported by AI-driven robotics. The environment is one where technical expertise meets operational pragmatism, offering a compelling challenge for a NetSuite MRP Consultant with a hands-on mindset and manufacturing domain knowledge.

This contract position is hybrid in nature, based in Boston, MA, combining onsite collaboration and flexible hours to match project needs. While there are no formal benefits detailed, the role promises focused engagement on a targeted project with clear deliverables and a defined timeframe.

Candidates with proven experience who thrive on practical implementation, operational delivery, and enabling business teams through well-structured system configurations will find this role well-suited. Success will be measured by the ability to establish a stable, effective supply planning process within NetSuite and the readiness of the client team to sustain it independently from go-live onwards.

This position draws on the candidate’s expertise in a specialist environment at the intersection of manufacturing execution and enterprise resource planning technology within the information technology and services sector.

Responsibilities also include estimating development effort, contributing to technical documentation and solution design, and taking part in code reviews, source control, build management, testing and deployments. Azure DevOps or comparable tools will support these activities. The role may also involve ERP implementations, upgrades, enhancements, migrations and ongoing application maintenance.

This is a permanent, fully onsite position, with attendance required five days a week. The technology environment centres on Microsoft Dynamics ERP, with relevant experience in Dynamics AX also applicable. The role calls for someone comfortable working in an enterprise setting and supporting business processes across areas such as Finance, Supply Chain Management, Sales and Operations.

To be considered, you’ll bring at least five years of Microsoft Dynamics ERP development experience, including hands-on expertise in one of these areas:

– Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations or Dynamics AX development and customisation using X++.
– Dynamics 365 Business Central or Dynamics NAV development and customisation using AL; legacy NAV/C/AL experience is also relevant.
– ERP customisations, extensions, integrations and application enhancements, alongside knowledge of debugging, testing and application lifecycle processes.
– Integration experience with REST APIs, OData, web services or platform-specific frameworks, and familiarity with Azure DevOps or comparable source control and deployment tools.
– A sound understanding of the software development lifecycle and Microsoft development practices for building maintainable, scalable and upgrade-compatible solutions.

You’ll bring analytical and problem-solving ability, with clear communication and documentation skills to support collaboration across technical and functional teams. Experience with implementations, upgrades, cloud migrations or enterprise application support will be useful. Further relevant exposure could include both Dynamics platforms, Power Platform, Azure integrations, Microsoft Entra ID, the Finance & Operations Data Management Framework, SSRS, Business Central APIs, Power BI or Jet Reports. These are additional strengths rather than requirements.

The package includes medical, dental and vision cover, life insurance, short- and long-term disability, an employee assistance programme, paid holiday and floating days. It also includes a retirement savings plan with employer matching, tuition reimbursement, employee perks and discounts, engagement events, awards and service recognition, plus a travel-to-work or ticket-loan scheme.

The role sits within a manufacturing business operating in the glass, ceramics and concrete sector.
