- Dynamics 365 Business Central
Description
My client in the manufacturing space is looking for a Business Central Support Specialist to handle day-to-day support tickets within the BC system. This is not a backend IT or development position. The primary focus will be helping users resolve functional issues and answering questions related to Business Central.
Approximately 80% of the role will involve managing support tickets. Many of these tickets will come from the Supply Chain department. An example might be helping a user troubleshoot an error message while posting a payment journal entry.
The candidate can have either a functional or technical background, but development experience is not required. Needs to understand the front end of Business Central well enough to investigate issues, guide users, and resolve tickets without needing constant direction.
Principales responsabilités :
Manage and resolve day-to-day Business Central support tickets
Support end users working directly within the BC system
Troubleshoot errors and functional issues across Business Central
Provide significant support to the Supply Chain department
Clearly communicate ticket status, next steps, and resolutions
Escalate more complex issues to Thomas, the Level 2 support resource
Work independently and manage priorities without being micromanaged
Help reduce Thomas’s current support workload
Top Three Requirements:
Strong front-end Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central experience
Clear and professional communicator who is easy for end users to understand
Self-sufficient and able to manage support tickets without close supervision
Additional Qualifications:
Experience providing hands-on ERP application support
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Comfortable working directly with business users
Supply chain experience is strongly preferred
Functional or technical Business Central experience is acceptable
Business Central development experience is not required
Examples of Support Tickets:
“I’m receiving an error message when trying to post a payment journal. Can you help me identify what is causing it?”
“A purchase order was received, but the inventory quantity is not updating correctly in Business Central.”
“I’m unable to create or post a warehouse shipment for a sales order. The system says there is insufficient inventory, but the items are showing as available.”
“A vendor invoice is not matching correctly against the purchase order and receipt. Can you help determine where the discrepancy is?”
“A user cannot access a specific Business Central page or complete a task they were previously able to perform. Can you review their permissions?”
